The aircraft production buildings and related site infrastructure will manufacture some of Embraer’s newest aircraft models. The project, totaling over 167,000 sq. ft., includes expansion of existing Production Assembly, Administration and Flight Preparation facility areas, and a new two-bay aircraft paint facility and Delivery Center.
These additions will double the size of Embraer’s campus in Melbourne, with the addition of the Legacy 450 and 500 assembly lines. The project required a phased approach, which is necessary to meet the critical manufacturing schedule requirements for the Embraer aircraft.
The Final Aviation Assembly and Flight Prep Hangars, along with the Administration and Support Shops, total approximately 110,000 sq. ft. and are an expansion of the existing Final Aviation Assembly Hangar. The expansion allows Embraer to double their manufacturing capabilities on the existing campus.
The new Paint Hangar, adjacent to the existing paint hangar, is approximately 32,400 sq. ft. and has two paint bays. The new paint bays allow the new larger Embraer Legacy Jets to be painted, while the existing paint hangar will handle the smaller jets.
The Delivery Center, adjacent to the existing Delivery Center and sharing a common apron, is approximately 25,000 sq. ft. The Delivery Center can house one to two jets as they are detailed with high-end finishes and delivered to their new owners.
